Windsor police now call the disappearance of 29-year-old Jerome Allen last October a homicide.
Police announced Tuesday they laid murder charges against two men arrested over the weekend; 28-year-old Joshua Gillespie and 29-year-old Mohammad Al-Yousufi of Windsor.
Rosalind Nussio, 27, of Windsor faces a charge of accessory after the fact to murder.
Meanwhile, the investigation at a home on Cross Street in the west end of the city is ongoing.
Senior Staff Sergeant Steve Betteridge said forensic investigators are going through the home for evidence.
"Generally speaking, when you're talking forensics, and you're talking a murder investigation, you could be looking for anything from physical damage in the house, any blood that was in the house," said Betteridge.
He noted residents will continue to see an increased police presence in that area.
Monday, police said investigators would be canvassing residents in the neighbourhood, and Betteridge said the public is generally cooperative.
"We always get positive feedback with that," he said. "Our community wants Windsor to be a safe community and wants people that do commit crimes to be held responsible."
Allen was last seen on Windsor's west side on October 20, 2018.
