A taste of Windsor's past will be present at this falls Bootleggers Bash.
The event takes place at the Water's Edge Event Centre on Riverside Drive and will feature all things Prohibition era. Karen Smallwood, event coordinator for Water's Edge promises a fun-filled evening that highlights the city's rich history.
"[Tickets are] $30 or $35 at the door. That gets you entrance, a signature cocktail, four drink tokens, live music and a cigar demonstration. It's a party, we are celebrating the role of this building and Windsor in general," said Smallwood.
Guests are invited to wear 1920s attire and a prize will be awarded for best costume.
Larry Horwitz, co-owner of The Waters Edge Event Centre, said that while they were researching, they found out that this summer marks the 100th anniversary of Windsor's role during the Prohibition era.
"This is when we established that Windsor was the whiskey capital of Canada and the world. It's an important time," said Horwitz. "We decided, let's have a party. Let's celebrate what we were and what we continue to be."
Partial proceeds from the event will benefit Family Respite Services Windsor-Essex.
The Bootleggers Bash takes place on October 11 from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. Tickets can be bought at the door or online by clicking here.
