City of Windsor looking for new CAO

After only a year in the position, City of Windsor CAO Jason Reynar is leaving the role effective immediately.

The City of Windsor announced his departure in a news release Friday afternoon.

“It has been my honour and privilege to serve the residents of this community,” said outgoing CAO Jason Reynar. “I am very proud of the hard work and resiliency City staff have demonstrated over this last year.”

The City of Windsor said members of the corporate leadership team will take on some of his responsibilities while a formal recruitment process gets underway.

Recently retired CAO Onorio Colucci has also agreed to return to city hall in an acting capacity.

“There’s no shortage of talent at City Hall,” said Mayor Drew Dilkens. “CLT is well placed to govern their individual departments and I’m thrilled to report that O.C. will come back to lend a hand over the next few months.”

After Colucci announced his retirement, it took the city around three months to find a new person to fill the role.

The Windsor Police Service is also recruiting for its top position after the Chief of Police Pam Mizuno announced her retirement last week.
