Windsor Express enters second decade with new logo, attitude

Windsor's NBLC franchise is looking toward its second decade of existence.

The Windsor Express unveiled its new logo during a media announcement Thursday. Updating the previous logo that featured a locomotive, the new one has a luxury liner as its centrepiece to reflect the team's attitude of style and speed, with a basketball on the front.

Express Owner and CEO Dartis Willis said the logo stands for the new approach the team is following.

"One of the important things that we've done is to give us a new start in our tenth season along with a more refined logo," said Willis in a media release. "I am confident in the direction of our team, and the new logo speaks to us moving into the coming decade."

The Express' website will also get a makeover, along with the team's uniforms.

The 2023 season will be the tenth under head coach Bill Jones, who guided the Express to back-to-back NBLC titles in 2014 and 2015. Windsor is coming off an 8-19 season.

The 2019-2020 season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the following season cancelled completely.

The Express' 2022-2023 schedule has not yet been announced.
