UPDATE: School buses cancelled second day in a row, some schools without power

Once again, school buses will not be running in the City of Windsor or in Essex County.

According to BusKids.ca, buses are not operational Thursday morning after an ice storm hit the region Wednesday.

School buses were cancelled Wednesday morning too, ahead of the storm.

Most schools in the Greater Essex County District School Board and Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board are open.  However, some are without power.  For those that are, members of the school community will get a call from the school.

Those schools are Essex Public School, Kingsville District High School, Kingsville Public School, Colchester North Public School, Lakeshore Discovery School, Harrow Public School, Jack Miner Public School, Malden Central Public School, East Mersea Public School, PASS - Amherstburg, and The Employment Assessment Centre in Kingsville.

The English Catholic school board said Cardinal Carter High School, Cardinal Carter Middle School, St. Thomas of Villanova High School, St. John the Evangelist Elementary, St. Anthony Elementary, Holy Name Elementary in Essex, St. John de Brebeuf Elementary in Kingsville, and St. Mary Elementary schools have all lost power and are closed.

All other schools are open.
