Windsor police seek feedback on traffic enforcement

With more people being nabbed for stunt driving and other infractions, Windsor police are asking the public for feedback on how traffic issues are enforced.

Following an increase in enforcement at some of the city's most dangerous intersections, Windsor police have gone to social media to ask residents for their input on how to make the streets safer.

This comes after one driver was cited on Friday for going 110 kilometres per hour in a 60 km/h zone. Under Ontario's stunt driving laws, the vehicle was impounded for 14 days and the driver's license was suspended for 30.

Police are not only asking the public for their ideas, but are also reminding people of the stiff penalties that come with speeding, aggressive driving, and refusing to wear a seat belt.

Those punishments include a minimum fine of $2,000 for stunt driving, one year of driving probation if you're caught driving while impaired, and fines starting at $200 for not wearing a seatbelt.
