Second rally in Windsor in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza

A second protest in less than a week is planned in Windsor to show support for Palestinians in Gaza as the war in Israel rages on for a tenth day.

The event, "All Out For Gaza," begins at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the corner of Riverside Drive and Ouellette Avenue.

A rally last Thursday night attracted 300 participants who marched from the riverfront to Windsor City Hall.

For the most part, the rally organized by the Palestinian Solidarity Group at the University of Windsor was peaceful, although the group later posted on Instagram of one incident.

"A group of individuals infiltrated our gathering deliberately getting into people's personal space and provoking tensions," read an entry posted on October 13.

The same statement said the group "does not tolerate any forms of abuse or violence, verbal or physical. We condemn hate, racism or discrimination of all kinds stoked by anti-Palestinian racism or anti-Semitism."

According to CNN, Israeli air strikes in Gaza have claimed 2,800 lives. Another 1,400 Israelis died during Hamas's attack on October 7. Five Canadians are confirmed dead.
