OLG cuts cheque to Windsor for Caesars Windsor

Caesars Windsor continues to be a lucrative source of revenue for the City of Windsor.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation deposited its cheque for the second quarter of 2023, totalling over $2.3-million. It's for the period between July 1 and September 30.

The city has received more than $5.7-million this year to fund programs and services. Payments for the third and fourth quarters will come in late 2023 and early 2024.

"Municipality Contribution Agreement payments help municipalities fund priorities such as community infrastructure, parks and recreation, and local healthcare facilities, benefitting families and local residents," said Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy.

Windsor started receiving the payments for hosting the casino in May 1994 when the first casino opened, and since then has collected over $88.1-million.
