Province to give Tecumseh over $1.7-million for infrastructure

So Tecumseh has the critical infrastructure it needs to build more homes the province has awarded it more than $1.7-million to build critical infrastructure.

The town will get $1,789,764 from the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund next year.

"Tecumseh continues its renewal of and reinvestment in municipal infrastructure supporting housing and economic development," said Windsor-Tecumseh MPP Andrew Dowie.

The fund, with $400-million available, helps small, rural, and northern municipalities build roads, bridges, water, and wastewater infrastructure.

"It's through funding like this and strategic planning that we can address key infrastructure needs," said Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara.

Tecumseh received $2,056,244 through the fund last year. The money has funded various ongoing projects, including the Scully-St. Mark's Storm Pump Station.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
