Third suspect wanted in Amherstburg arson case

The Windsor police Amherstburg detachment is asking residents for help in finding a third suspect wanted in an arson case.

At Around 5 a.m. on January 18, firefighters were called to a new-build house on Cowan Court. It was the third time in 16 months that the property was the target of an arson attack.

The fire caused over $1 million in damages to the home and a neighbouring property.

Three suspects ran from the property carrying gas vans and fleeing in a black luxury SUV.

A 19-year-old from Mississauga and a 19-year-old from Brampton have been charged with arson causing property damage, possession of incendiary materials, and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence of arson.

Windsor police have released surveillance camera images of a third man.

He is described as an East Indian male, 5’ 10”, with a medium build and a tattoo on his left hand. He was wearing a black sweater with a hood, black Roots pants, and a black Nike toque. This suspect may reside in the GTA.

Anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts should call the Windsor police's Arson Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4330. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
