Marijuana, THC products seized at Ambassador Bridge

Agents with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) were busy recently stopping illicit cannabis products from entering the U.S.

The CBP publicly announced two cannabis-related seizures Thursday on social media.

The first seizure was on May 17 at the Detroit entry of the Ambassador Bridge. A Canadian citizen was referred to secondary inspection, where agents discovered an assortment of gummies containing the chemical THC, who produces the "high" in cannabis.

The gummies were confiscated and the driver was fined $500 before being sent back to Windsor.

The second seizure was on May 23, also at the bridge. Agents found 4.45 pounds of marijuana that appeared to be concealed in the vehicle's hood.

Two Canadian citizens were hit with a fine, then sent back to Canada.
