The City of Windsor wants to hear from residents about the future of the former W.D. Lowe High School property.
It's one of many sites selected as part of the city's initiative to promote residential development.
The city will issue an Expression of Interest shortly to attract developers interested in developing the site into housing.
A public survey has been issued to determine what type of housing the neighbourhood would like to see in the area.
"Windsorites deserve Housing Solutions Made for Windsor, and to be part of the vision for housing developments, diversification of housing stock, and more as part of the process. The information collected through this survey will help guide the future development at the key former W.D. Lowe site. This process and the follow-up EOI represent a significant step in Windsor’s proactive approach to smart housing solutions, with the site offering a unique opportunity for residential development that aligns with the site’s history, while supporting sustainable growth," said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens.
The survey will be open until September 16, 2025.
The city has undergone this process with two vacant property sites, one on Pelissier Street and one on Caron Avenue. The results of the EOIs have not been released.
