High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

If your daily commute includes Dougall Avenue and the E.C. Row Expressway, Windsor police suggest you find a different route this week.The on and off-ramps at Dougall Avenue and the westbound E.C. Row will be closed starting on Tuesday for road work. The closure will run through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.Also, both directions of the E.C. Row at Dougall will be down to one lane each.Windsor police suggest finding an alternate route and avoiding the area if possible.[tweet id="1970203914210353447"]
