Four Windsor-Essex LTC facilities receive provincial funding

Four long-term care facilities in Windsor and Tecumseh will receive new funding from Queens Park to strengthen specialized care.

The provincial government has provided a total of $152,280 through the Local Priorities Fund for four local LTC homes.

The LTC facilities receiving grants are Brouillette Manor in Tecumseh, along with Banwell Gardens Care Centre, Heron Terrace Long Term Care Community, and Riverside Place, all in Windsor.

"Specialized equipment and services mean that long-term care home residents can get the care they need without the stress of a trip to the hospital," said Windsor-Tecumseh MPP Andrew Dowie.

The Local Priorities Fund supports the purchase of specialized equipment, and the funding of services and staff training to enable long-term care homes to admit new residents with specialized needs.

"This funding will expand the specialized equipment and innovative services available at long-term care homes across our province, so those with complex needs get the support they deserve," said Ontario Minister of Long-Term Care Natalia Kusendova-Bashta.
