Two people, ordered not to communicate, caught in a stolen vehicle

Two suspects arrested by Windsor Police on Sunday face charges for more than stealing a vehicle; they discovered the two were under court orders not to communicate with each other.

Windsor Police were called to a home on Bridge Avenue on Sunday after a 2011 Ford Escape was stolen.

On Monday, an officer spotted the vehicle on Campbell Avenue near Rooney Street and pulled it over.

The suspects were arrested without incident, but further investigation revealed the male suspect was bound by court-ordered conditions from communicating with the female suspect.

A 45-year-old man is now charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000, and two counts of breach of probation.

The 49-year-old woman is charged with facilitating a breach of probation, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000.
