TWEPI wins at Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence

A local content creator has won an award at the 2026 Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence.

Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island nominated Nina Ngo for her creativity and authentic storytelling, showcasing the region through its local insider campaign last year.

The monthly series consistently had 190,000 digital views as it profiled more than 200 businesses in 14 programs. The videos are still in circulation as an informational tool on the landing pages of tourism's program webpages.

"These award nominations and wins highlight the strength of our partnerships, from working with municipalities and organizations like Workforce WindsorEssex and the City of Windsor, to collaborating with local businesses and passionate ambassadors like Nina Ngo who help bring the Windsor-Essex story to life," said TWEPI CEO Gordon Orr.

TWEPI also learned at the Ontario Tourism Summit that it will host the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario's summit in October 2028 at Caesars Windsor.

Hosting the summit provides TWEPI with the opportunity to showcase the region's accommodations, restaurants, attractions and hospitality.

"Hosting the Ontario Tourism Summit in 2028 is another tremendous opportunity to put Windsor-Essex in the spotlight," said Orr.

The summit also provides the opportunity to learn from industry leaders and strengthen provincial partnerships.

The City of Windsor picked up an Arts and Culture Award for Streetcar No. 351.
