Man charged after stabbing in downtown Windsor

A 25-year-old man is facing charges after a stabbing in downtown Windsor Tuesday.

The Windsor Police Service says members of the Nurse Police Team responded to a fight in the area of Wyandotte Street and Ouellette Avenue around 8 p.m.

The team treated a man suffering from stab wounds until he could be taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A second man also had minor injuries.

Police say the injuries stemmed from a dispute over money between two groups of people. During the incident one man was stabbed and another was assaulted.

Later that night, a man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, breach of probation, and failure to comply with a release order.
