Canadian Cattle Groups Launch National Beef Strategy

A new strategy has been unveiled to best position the Canadian beef industry for greater profitability , growth and continued production.

The National Beef Strategy is a collaboration of a number of national beef sector groups, including the Beef Cattle Research Council and the Canadian Cattlemen's Association.

Spokesman Martin Unrau says those groups see unprecedented opportunities for the beef industry in both the short and long term future.

But he says they also realize the need to tackle things like input costs, production efficiencies and capturing the greatest value from each cut of beef.

The National Beef Strategy wants to position the Canadian industry as the most trusted and competitive high quality beef cattle producer in the world.

It also pushes for recognition of the industry for things like superior quality, innovation and sustainable production methods.
