Peter Johnson's Agricultural Contributions Recognized

A popular OMAFRA specialist is retiring after 30 years on the job.

Peter Johnson was recognized for his contribution to Ontario agricultural at Grey Bruce Farmers Week.

Johnson says he started with the Ministry when they were looking for someone with a background and education in agriculture and knew how to weld.

After that he worked his way up because, as he says, he was willing to take on anything.

Johnson has no plans to slow down.

He'll continue with ongoing research projects and take on speaking engagements.

He told CKNX Radio; "I absolutely love my job and I really hope that people will continue to ask me to do all the fun things that I've done over the last 30 years."
