U-S Corn, Soybean and Spring Wheat Planting Ahead Of Average Pace

U-S corn producers had a big week last week.

The USDA says they now have 55 per cent of their crop planted - up from the previous week's 19 per cent.

That 55 per cent is 17 points better than the five year average.

Soybean growers are also ahead of the five year average, with 13 per cent of that crop in the ground compared to the 9 per cent average.

And 75 per cent of the U-S spring wheat crop is in the ground - 35 points better than the five year average.

The USDA says the condition of the winter wheat crop improved slightly last week.

It's now 43 per cent good to excellent - up a point from last week - and 12 points better than a year ago.
