Canadian hog slaughter continues to run ahead of last year.
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada reports a 2 point 3 per cent increase in hog slaughter this year compared to a year ago.
The department says our exports of live hogs to the U-S to the end of October is up 12 and a half per cent from 2014.
All of the provinces reported lower prices for the week ending November 7th from a year ago.
Ontario's price for that week was down 9 and a half per cent from the same week in 2014.
The University of Missouri's Ron Plain says it was another bad week for U-S hog prices as well.
Plain reports the average negotiated price for barrows and gilts on Thursday was down over 3 dollars from the week earlier.
It's fallen almost 18 dollars per hundredweight over the past three weeks.
U-S hog slaughter last week was up 7 and a half per cent from the same week in 2014 and was the largest weekly hog slaughter in the 'States in almost 4 years.
