The Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario elected a new president at their Annual Convention in Waterloo on Tuesday.
Clarence Nywening replaces long time CFFO President Lorne Small and while he may be up to the challenge ahead of him, he says he has some pretty big shoes to fill.
"It's going to be a big task and I'm encouraged by the support that I have from all the members of this organization and I hope I can do them well as a leader for them," says Nywening.
Nywening says his first order of business is to get better representation across all of Ontario by improving harmony among staff, board members and by improving communication with the local districts and farmers.
"It hasn't been emphasized enough and I believe that we're a grassroots organisation and I believe that we need to continue to be a grassroots organization for our members," adds Nywening.
Directors for the Board were also chosen at the Annual Convention.
