National Award For Ontario Corn Fed Beef Program

Special national recognition for the Ontario Corn Fed Beef Program.

The program, the Ontario Cattle Feeders Association and Association Executive Director Jim Clark have been awarded the 2016 Canadian Cattlemen Association's Beef Industry Innovation and Sustainability Award.

CCA President Dave Solverson calls Ontario Corn Fed Beef a success story that could serve as a blueprint for branded programs across Canada promoting the Canadian Beef Advantage.

The program is managed by the Ontario Cattle Feeders Association.

It's described as one of the largest producer-owned branded beef programs in Canada.

Ontario Corn Fed Beef is featured in more than 360 grocery and retail outlets across the province.

It's distributed to restaurants through major restaurant and food service providers.

The program recently expanded into Japan.

The CCA award recognizes individuals, industry stakeholders and value chain members for their outstanding commitment to the sustainability of Canada's beef industry through innovation.
