With 17 special fall stocker sales taking place last week, stocker and feeder cattle volumes were way up.
The Beef Farmers of Ontario report 13,371 were sold throughout the week.
That puts the week 745 head above last year's total.
BFO notes that's the largest weekly volume since the last week of October in 2014.
The 504 fed steers and heifers sold through auction was down a bit for both the week and the year.
Steers averaged $123.27, down 20 cents from last week.
Heifer prices were up by $2.79, at an average of $122.84.
Both are a little more than 41 dollars below prices from this time in 2015.
The farmers also report cull cow prices dipped 22 cents on the week.
They note the average of $68.67 is down nearly 22 dollars from a year ago and the lowest since December 2013.
Ontario Railgrade prices rose by an average of 2 dollars, but are still $59.50 below last year's price.
