Power Outages Across Region

Hydro One is reporting several power outages scattered across the region.

Close to 1,000 customers will be without power until about 12pm Tuesday. A Hydro One spokesperson says eight poles were knocked over by heavy winds and specialized equipment is needed to fix the situation.

Meanwhile, about 5,000 Hydro One customers are without power in an area stretching from Glencoe to Tilbury, with restoration estimated to be about 5pm.

Also, Entegrus is reporting most of the outages in Ridgetown, Merlin, Wallaceburg and Chatham have been restored. An earlier outage in Bothwell has been fixed.

Chatham-Kent OPP is confirming Hwy. 40 is closed north of Chatham, between Greenvalley and Cedar Hedge Line, due to downed power lines. It's unclear how long the road will be closed.

Power has been restored to the over 1,300 Hydro One customers in Kingsville. The outage affected the areas of Division Rd. N and Main St. E, stretching east to Union Ave. and north to Road 4 W.

In Amherstburg, nearly 900 people can now turn their lights back on.  Those residences stretched from Middle Side Rd. to County Road 50.

Another 700 Hydro One homes have lost power in the Rondeau Bay area.
