Building The Auto Workforce (VIDEO)

Workforce Windsor-Essex is encouraging the next generation to start considering careers in the auto industry.

It's released a research project titled Driving The Automotive Industry Into The Future.

Business Outreach Innovator Heather Gregg says it answers questions about where auto is going, and what skills people are going to need for a career in the industry. "There is a mindset that it is dirty work in a dark manufacturing facility, where in fact it's quite the opposite with really high tech and advanced processes."

Gregg says auto doesn't seem to be top of mind for most students or even residents who might be looking for a career change, as it may have been years ago. But she's hopeful that this project will help to change that.
