Federal Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau says his party will reveal a platform when the election is called.
Trudeau and the entire Liberal caucus are meeting in London for two days ahead of the return to parliament.
The Liberal Party does not hold a single seat in southwestern Ontario, all ridings belong to either the NDP or Conservatives, something the leader says he wants to change.
"This region, like regions across the country, deserves a partner in Ottawa who responds to their needs and is ready to step up on investments around infrastructure, around education, around issues that are going to lead to growth and prosperity for the middle class and all those seeking to join," says Trudeau, who was vague when answering questions about his plan for Canada and southwestern Ontario. "We will continue to be strong critics of this government and push ideas, a kind of government that engages in cooperative fashion with different orders of government to serve the Canadians that most need the help, middle class Canadians who are worried their kids are not going to have the same opportunities and quality of life they inherited from their parents."
The federal election must take place on or before October 15.
