There's movement at the downtown Chatham condo project.
A delivery of rebar was unloaded from a transport at the site using the giant crane this morning. The truck driver says the shipment came from Sarnia and was about 17,000 kg, or 17 tonnes, of steel.
Ironworkers Local 700 unloaded the shipment at the Boardwalk On The Thames project.
One of the workers says he expects the project to resume at the end of February or in early March when the weather is warmer.
As BlackburnNews.com told you a few weeks ago, developer Victor Boutin said he was pulling the plug on the project because he was sick of the union being on his back. And earlier this week, the president of Con-Wall Concrete in London confirmed his company had been contacted to have a crane operator on site this week to move steel.
