The London man accused of repeatedly stabbing his 5-year-old daughter will appear in court again next month.
Andrew Hill, 38, faces one charge of attempted murder.
He was in court this morning by video link from the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre, where he has been since early last week.
Hill was arrested when police were called to his Applegreen Grove home around 6am on May 19.
When officers arrived they found the girl suffering from several life threatening stab wounds. She was rushed to hospital in critical condition and is now recovering.
Hill made his first in-person court appearance on May 20. He jammed his fingers into his ears, covered his face and cowered in the prisoner's box.
The judge banned the father from contacting any of his children or his wife and several other people.
Details surrounding the case remain scarce. Neighbours on the quiet cul-de-sac tell BlackburnNews.com the family was friendly, but kept to themselves . They say the mother was often out playing with the children, but the father was rarely seen.
Hill is to remain in custody and will appear before a judge by video link again on June 12.
