FireFest To Wow Crowds With Antique Trucks

FireFest Chatham-Kent is promising to be bigger and better this year with even more antique fire trucks.

The fourth annual event runs from September 17-19 on King St. in Downtown Chatham and will feature around 90 antique fire rigs. There will also be scheduled appearances from vehicles featured in Dukes of Hazard, Starsky and Hutch, and from the movie Backdraft.

FireFest co-chair Brent DeNure says the fire trucks will be coming from as far as Buffalo and Chicago to be part of the event.

He says FireFest wouldn't be possible without the support it gets from the community.

"A lot of what has fallen into place so nicely is a direct result of the sincerity and passion of the community for FireFest," he says.

Firefest will also include a Junior Fire Challenge for children 12 and under, and attendees will be able to meet New York City firefighter Jason Carrion and his wife Courtney from the TV show Married At First Sight. Carrion is also featured on the cover of the NYPD 2016 calendar.
