The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency is urging travelers to be prepared as they consider crossing the border this weekend.
They are expecting the heaviest traffic Thursday morning as travelers cross for the football game and Thanksgiving Day parade.
Chief Ken Hammond says having the proper documents ready before reaching the customs booth can save a lot of time.
"With one car if you can save 20 seconds and you extrapolate that out that saves an inordinate amount of time in traffic," he says.
Traffic is expected to be heavy throughout the weekend with Black Friday shoppers and holiday gatherings.
