St. Nicholas Old Time Christmas

For the fifth year, a Chatham family is hosting a Christmas event in support of the Salvation Army.

Doug Robinson says A Visit With St. Nicholas will be a bit different from the story telling about Christmas he has done in the past.

"This year we are actually having a visit from an 1850s Father Christmas who will talk about the foundations of his legend and the very early days of Canada. We are going back to 1641," he says. "We're going to meet the Wendat people with Jean de Brébeuf and the Huron Carol, and then we are going to be in Quebec for Canada's first Christmas tree and they we are going to end up somewhere around the Chatham-Kent area."

The presentation takes place at 2pm and 7pm Studio One of the Cultural Centre on William St. N in Chatham.

Admission is by donation with all donations going to the Salvation Army and people are also asked to bring non-perishable food items.
