Maroons Fall In Game 5

The Chatham Maroons suffered a 7-1 blowout loss to the Leamington Flyers in Game 5 on Thursday.

The Maroons scored a 1-0 lead in the first period, but it was short lived with Leamington scoring two of their own before the second. The Flyers scored another three unanswered goals in the second, and a final two in the third to cap off their win.

Maroons Head Coach Tyler Roeszler says once Leamington got their momentum, they were a tough team to stop.

"It's a heck of series, it's going to be a grind and we knew coming in that it's going to take everything to win," he says. "In the playoffs, it's all about having a short memory. You've got to learn from it, but you're moving on because you've got to get right back at it. This game isn't an indicator of how we've been this season, or in the past month of the playoffs -- we've been very good."

The Flyers now have a 3-2 lead against Chatham and can close out the series with a win on Sunday at 7pm.
