For the first time, the OPP will attend Grassy 2 Rock but it's not to enjoy the music performed by local bands.
Since the concert will be on the water the OPP along with Chatham-Kent police, Canada Border Services, the Canadian Coast Guard and American law enforcement will patrol Lake St. Clair and highways around the area.
Due to the advertisments posted on social media Constable Jay Denorer says they're expecting a large turn out.
"We're going to have our mobile unit set up at Mitchells Bay. We're also going to have other officers doing R.I.D.E. program," says Denorer.
He says vessels will be checked to make sure there are no violations.
"The expectation for alcohol on the water runs the same penalty as drinking and driving in a vehicle," says Denorer. "If you're convicted of impaired operation you're going to lose your drivers licence for at least a year."
In a news release Monday the OPP issued a reminder to mariners to wear personal floatation devices, have a designated driver and comply with the Liquor Licence Act.
"Go out and have a safe weekend and a safe boating experience," says Denorer.
The event is set to take place July 2 at Mitchells Bay, Ont.
