The TEDx conference will be returning to Chatham-Kent for a third year.
Co-organizer Peter Martin says although the conference usually keeps the same general format the theme is different every year.
"Our new theme is called 'Driven'," says Martin. "The idea is just to look for speakers and subjects where the presenters are very passionate about their topics."
Adding, there are about 16 speakers that will be featured at this year's conference.
"Some of them come from the local community," says Martin. "We have Emily Hime for instance who has been involved with setting up an orphanage in Haiti."
Martin says since the event will be in Chatham-Kent, it's really important to have local speakers.
"There are a lot of passionate driven people in this community who are working in their own lives and in the greater community to improve things," says Martin. "We really like to highlight them in our conference every year."
Other speakers include: CK native Adam Ludolph speaking about depression, Richard Coffey from Toronto speaking about Autism, marijuana advocate Alan Gertner, and many more.
The conference will be held on October 20, at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre from 9am to 6pm.
