Blue Jays Beat Texas 7-6 to Sweep ALDS

It took extra innings and a wild dash to home plate, but the Toronto Blue Jays advanced to the American League Championship Series two years in a row with a 7-6 win over the Texas Rangers at the Rogers Centre.

Josh Donaldson doubled in the bottom of the 10th inning, then scored all the way from second base when the Rangers' Rougned Odor threw wildly at first base while trying to get Russell Martin out, setting off a wild celebration.

Aaron Sanchez started the game for the Blue Jays, allowing all six Texas runs over 5 2/3 innings of work.  Four Jays relievers took over with Roberto Osuna on the mound pitching the last two scoreless innings, collecting the win in the process.  Matt Bush was the losing pitcher for the Rangers, who lost in the ALDS to Toronto for the second year in a row.

Martin and Edwin Encarnacion each homered for the Jays, while Donaldson would go three-for-five on the night while scoring the winning run.  Encarnacion would knock in three of Toronto's runs.

The Blue Jays now wait to see who they will play in the American League Championship Series.  The Cleveland Indians currently lead the Boston Red Sox two games to none in the other AL Division Series, but their Game 3 was postponed Sunday due to foul weather in Boston.  That game has been rescheduled for Monday evening at Fenway Park.
