Man charged with theft 

Police arrested a man outside the Chatham Home Depot after he allegedly shoplifted an item Thursday morning.

According to officers, the incident happened at 9 a.m. when the man was accused of concealing an item worth $170 and walking out of the store with it.

Police said he was stopped outside of the store, arrested and charged with theft. Officers added he has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman arrested on for threats

A 50-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with uttering threats and causing a disturbance Thursday.

A warrant was issued by the Chatham-Kent Police for a woman who continued to yell obscenities and threaten an adolescent back in October.

Police said she was arrested at 10 a.m. Thursday and released from custody with a future court date.

Woman arrested on warrant

A Walpole Island woman is accused of skipping out on getting her fingerprints done and was subsequently arrested.

She was initially released from custody for theft and possession of property obtained by a crime in April.

Police said she was required to attend the Chatham courthouse to have her fingerprints taken and appear before a judge, but didn't show up.

She was located on Walpole Island at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, arrested, transported to police headquarters and released with a future court date.

Man arrested for public intoxication

Police said they found an intoxicated 22-year-old man in front of an apartment complex in Chatham.

Officers said they had concerns for Chatham man's safety as he was unable to care for himself. They added he was arrested and charged with public intoxication.

Police held him until he sobered up.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
