Accused ice chucker arrested
A 40-year-old man is charged with mischief after he allegedly threw two chunks of ice at a fire truck in Chatham.
Police said the investigation started after officers received a call about a suspicious man in the area of Grand Avenue in Chatham Wednesday night.
Officers later learned that the man had thrown two pieces of ice towards Fire Station #1, hitting the roof lights and bumper of a fire truck.
The man was arrested on Sandys Street and charged with mischief, then released pending a future court date.

Multiple arrests on outstanding warrants
Chatham-Kent police have rounded up another batch of accused criminals wanted for a variety of offences.
A 55-year-old Wallaceburg woman who was wanted for failing to attend a fingerprinting appointment last month was arrested Wednesday morning. She was later released with a future court date.
Police also arrested a 35-year-old Chatham woman who was wanted for failing to attend court earlier this month. Officers picked her up Wednesday afternoon while they were responding to a report of a woman who was refusing to leave a business on Grand Avenue in Chatham.
A 25-year-old Chatham woman who was wanted in connection with a shoplifting complaint at Walmart in Chatham earlier this month was arrested Wednesday night. Police said she was charged with theft and possession of property obtained by crime, then released with a future court date.
In a fourth arrest, police picked up a 31-year-old Walpole Island man who was wanted for mischief, obstructing police, and failing to attend court. He was arrested Wednesday night and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
And in a fifth case, local officers were able to do police in London a favour by arresting a 49-year-old man who was wanted for undisclosed offences. The accused was taken into custody and then transferred to London for court purposes.

Electronics, tools targeted during break-ins
Chatham-Kent police are asking for tips from the public as they try to solve a pair of break-ins that took place recently.
Investigators said sometime over the last couple of weeks, someone broke into a residence on Gladstone Avenue in Chatham and took off with various electronics.
The damage caused by the break-in is estimated at $500 and the value of the stolen goods is pegged at $2,000.

In the second case, someone broke into a home under construction on Fargo Road at around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning and stole some tools valued at approximately $300.
