Health care workers will convene at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham next week, but it won't be for any medical emergencies.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is hoping to fill some positions by hosting a Clinical Career Fair on February 11.
The CKHA is accepting applications for registered nurses and registered practical nurses in medicine, critical care, and surgery programs. Applications will also be accepted for personal support workers, laboratory technologists, and diagnostic imaging technologists.
Medical workers in the specified fields from across southwestern Ontario will get the chance to sit in on a question and answer session with CKHA CEO Lori Marshall. Attendees will also learn about different hospital departments and enter in some prize draws.
Lisa Northcott, CKHA vice president, said that the fair will help shed light on career opportunities available within the community.
"CKHA is an organization that strives to ensure we support our staff to provide the highest quality health care and we promote a safe and healthy work environment for all of our staff," said Northcott. "Whether a candidate is just starting their career or is seasoned in their profession, the Clinical Career Fair allows attendees to learn about our culture and values."
The Clinical Career Fair will take place from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Those who may be interested in applying can visit the CKHA's website.
