The Sarnia Sting continue to build for the future.
The team has signed 2020 ninth-round draft pick Zach Filak to an Ontario Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.
The forward from Northville, MI played last season as a 15-year-old in the Detroit Compuware U16 program. He recorded three goals and seven assists for 10 points in 14 statistically recorded games.

New Sting GM Dylan Seca said he likes what Filak brings to the ice.
"This is an exciting day for Zach and the Filak family, we appreciate his decision to join the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club," said Seca in a news release. "He is a player our scouting staff followed very closely this winter. Zach has the skill, character and a work ethic that makes him a player Sting fans will love to come watch and play. We look forward to Zach getting started and watching him develop in Sarnia."
Filak said It’s a tremendous honour to sign with the Sarnia Sting.
"I cannot wait to get to the rink and get to work with my new teammates," said Filak. " I want to thank Mr. Legwand, Mr. Hatcher, the entire Sting organization, and my family in making this dream come true for me."
Filak is the second member of the 2020 OHL draft class to sign with the Sting. The team recently signed third overall pick Max Namestnikov.
