Sarnia-Lambton's COVID-19 case count is nearing 1,500.
Lambton Public Health reported 59 new confirmed cases in its daily update Wednesday, for a total of 1,453 since March 25.
The health unit said the number of cases considered resolved is now at 1,164, an increase of 46. Active infections are up 13 from Tuesday at 261.
The death toll remained unchanged since December 19 at 28.
There is a total of 14 active outbreaks in long-term care and retirement homes, and workplaces.
An outbreak at Village on the St. Clair Retirement Home continues to grow. There's now 21 cases among residents and patients, up from 18 on Tuesday. Six staff at the Front Street South home have also tested positive.
Bluewater Health said Wednesday there are 13 COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one from Tuesday.
The number of new cases in the past month, since December 13, has increased by 1,006 and the rate per 100,000 population is at 226.
