Health officials in Windsor-Essex recorded another 59 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday.
The additional cases bring the regional case count overall to 12,099. As of Sunday, 617 cases are active.
The transmission source of a majority of the newest cases is still being investigated. Fourteen are outbreak-related, 10 are close contacts of confirmed cases and four are community-acquired.
There were no new fatalities reported on Sunday with the regional death roll remaining at 316.
Meanwhile, 46 more people recovered from the virus in the region over the past 24 hours. A total of 11,166 of the cases in Windsor-Essex are listed as being resolved.
There are currently 17 long-term care or retirement homes and 18 workplaces in COVID-19 outbreak. There are also six-hospital outbreaks. All community outbreaks in the region have been declared over.
Elsewhere, provincial health officials recorded 1,848 new cases across Ontario on Sunday, 43 new deaths and 2,313 recoveries. According to Health Minister Christine Elliott, about 300 cases included in the latest numbers are from data catch-up work done by Toronto Public Health.
