Man and woman charged in domestic violence investigation
Two Chatham-Kent residents are facing charges after someone came to police headquarters in Chatham on Sunday to report some historical incidents of domestic violence.
Police said the victim reported the incidents at around 9 a.m. Sunday, adding that through their investigation, police determined that a Raleigh Township man and an Erieau woman -- who is also the mother of the co-accused -- had allegedly assaulted the victim.
Officers arrested a 28-year-old Raleigh Township man and charged him with four counts of assault, two counts of forcible confinement, and one count each of mischief, uttering threats, and assault causing bodily harm. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
A 54-year-old Erieau woman was also arrested in connection with the case and was charged with two counts of assault. She was later released with a future court date.

Break-in at Salvation Army in Wallaceburg
Chatham-Kent police are asking for tips from the public after someone broke into the Salvation Army building on Lowe Street in Wallaceburg Monday morning and took off with about $200 worth of items.
Police said the break-in took place at around 5:15 a.m. Monday, adding that whoever broke in caused about $250 worth of damage by breaking the glass out of the loading bay door in order to get into the building.
