Halloween event in Tilbury ghoulishly exciting

Plans are already underway for a third haunted drive-thru Halloween event at Tilbury Auto Mall after another successful event over the weekend.

Adam Lally of Lally Ford estimates this year's event saw about 2,500 people, which is double last year's attendance. Lally also said a small trailer full of food and between $400 and $700 in donations are going to the Tilbury Food Bank.

"There are so many generous people out there," said Lally. "Extremely excited to bring that to the Tibury Food Bank, fill their shelves, and put a little of money in their bank too. Very thankful to the community for those donations. Hopefully this gets them through until Christmas."

The cute ghosts and goblins went through three decorated service bays to have some fun and donate to the food bank. The Tomb of the Spider King Mummy, The Mad Scientists Lab, and a toddler-friendly display with cartoon characters and supermodels provided all of the excitement and scares.

Lally said there were monsters and mummies roaming the wait lines on the north side of the property at Lally Ford and Tilbury Chrysler, but nothing scary on the south side at Lally Chevrolet so toddlers wouldn't be scared.

Lally said there will definitely be another Halloween event next year, pandemic or not.

"We've invested so much into props and put so much time and energy into it and everyone loves it so much that at this point we can't not do it," added Lally. "We'll be back next year in some form. Maybe not a drive-thru, maybe something a little bit different. Whatever the environment allows, we will figure out a way to make it a fun Halloween event."

Lally thanks all of the volunteers and everyone who donated.
