Several school bus routes in CK cancelled ahead of forecasted snow storm

Several school bus routes in Chatham-Kent are being cancelled today in anticipation of a heavy snowfall that's expected to blanket the region.

Buses in zones 1-7 have been cancelled for the day but buses in Zone 8 (Chatham) are still running.

According to the LKDSB's inclement weather-related bus cancellation policy, elementary schools will remain open for in-person learning on bus cancellation days. However, all secondary school students attending schools affected by the school bus cancellations will engage in remote, teacher-let virtual learning and the schools will be closed to students for in-person learning.

The following LKDSB schools are closed for the day to in-person learning:

Alexander Mackenzie Secondary School Blenheim District High School Great Lakes Secondary School Lambton Central Collegiate & Vocational Institute Lambton Kent Composite School North Lambton Secondary School Northern Collegiate Institute & Vocational School Ridgetown District High School Tilbury District High School Wallaceburg District Secondary School

Chatham-Kent Secondary School and John McGregor Secondary School remain open for in-person learning because they are in Zone 8, where the busses are still running.

All busses for Chatham Christian School are cancelled for the day due to poor weather. The school is still open.

Environment Canada upgraded the winter storm watch in Chatham-Kent to a winter storm warning Tuesday evening.
