Welders, grinders targeted during Ridgetown break-in

Chatham-Kent police are appealing the public for tips as they try to solve a break-in at a warehouse in Ridgetown.

Police said someone forced their way into the warehouse on York Street West sometime between February 16 and 17 and took off with a Lincoln Welder Ranger, Lincoln Welder Power Migs, some Metabo Grinders, a Fein Grinder, and a desktop computer.

The stolen equipment has an estimated combined value of $13,000.

Wanted man arrested in Chatham

A 40-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for failing to attend court has been arrested after police found him outside of a local business in Chatham Thursday night.

Police said they found the man while they were responding to a report of a suspicious person at around 11 p.m. Thursday.

The accused was arrested and taken back to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

Clean your windshield

Chatham-Kent police are reminding drivers to clean their windshields -- for their own safety and to save them some money.

Police issued a reminder Friday morning that operating a vehicle with a snow-covered windshield is not only dangerous, but against the law.

If you don't have a clear view to the front, sides or rear of your vehicle, you could be fined $110.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
