CK opens cooling centres again during second heat wave

June 21, 2022 is the first day of summer and the heat is right on cue.

Several daytime cooling centres are opening their doors across Chatham-Kent again for anyone who is looking to escape the heat.

Environment Canada has issued another heat warning for Chatham-Kent, warning about hot and sunny conditions for the next few days and possibly all week.

Employment and Social Services at 435 Grand Avenue West in Chatham and Hope Haven on Wellington Street West in Chatham are both offering the same service.

In Wallaceburg, the James Street Drop-In Centre will be open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and anyone who needs transportation to get there can contact the Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628.

Public Libraries in Chatham-Kent will also be open to give people a place to beat the heat. You can find their locations and hours by clicking here.
