Three arrests after police investigate argument over knife and chair
Three men are facing charges after a physical fight broke out during a dispute about a knife and a chair in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police didn't release the details of the dispute, but noted that two of the men were involved in the fight on Michener Road in Chatham just after 7 p.m. Monday and the third man was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Police said a 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and assault with a weapon and taken to police headquarters first, then to the hospital for medical attention.
Officers noted, though, that the medical care the man needed was not a result of the altercation he was involved in.
A 53-year-old man who was also arrested in connection with the fight was charged with assault and assault with a weapon and he was taken back to police headquarters, then later released with conditions and a future court date.
The third man involved in the case was arrested on an outstanding warrant, taken to police headquarters, and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Woman arrested for breaching release conditions with visit
A 48-year-old Chatham woman is in more trouble with the law after she allegedly visited a man she was supposed to stay away from.
Chatham-Kent police said the woman was released from custody on Monday with conditions, one of which included not communicating with a specific man or attending any place where he is known to live or work.
Despite that, police received a tip just after 1:30 p.m. Monday that the woman was at the man's home in Chatham.
Police said when they arrived, they saw the woman leaving the man's home, so they arrested her.
She was taken back to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Woman arrested after violent outbursts at Wallaceburg home
A 29-year-old Chatham-Kent woman is facing several charges after a couple of violent visits to a residence on James Street in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to a disturbance on that street at around 6:15 p.m. Monday, adding that their investigation showed the woman had visited the residence twice within the span of 20 minutes.
The first time, the woman allegedly caused some damage to the property, including breaking a window and throwing some garbage around.
She left for a bit, but when she came back, the woman allegedly got into an argument with some other people who were there and that allegedly escalated to a physical fight when she tried to force her way into the home.
Police said the woman left before they arrived, but they were able to track her down later.
She was arrested and charged with two counts of mischief, and one count each of uttering threats and assault.
The woman was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.
