More open houses to discuss St. Clair Transmission Line Project

Another round of community open houses has been planned this week to discuss Hydro One's St. Clair Transmission Line Project.

The line will be located between the Lambton transformer station in St. Clair Township and the Chatham switching station, and once built, will add 400 megawatts of power to the region.

Virtual open houses were held back in March.

Hydro One said since then, technical studies have been conducted and a variety of feedback has been received, leading to a more in-depth understanding of the study area for each of the alternative routes.

As a result, three refinements were made to the routes and the need to expand Chatham switching station, Lambton transformer station, and the potential for a Wallaceburg transformer station were identified.

The first open house will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at the Mooretown Sports Complex on Emily Street from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Community open houses will also be held at the Legion on Margaret Avenue in Wallaceburg on Wednesday, November 9, from 6p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the Active Lifestyle Centre on Merritt Avenue in Chatham on Thursday, November 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A virtual open house is planned November 23, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Participants are asked to register in advance online at www.HydroOne.com/StClair or by calling 1-800-779-5914.
