Crash investigation leads to impaired driving charge
A 22-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing a handful of charges -- including impaired driving -- after an early morning crash in Wallaceburg on Thursday.
Chatham-Kent police said officers were called to the scene on Dufferin Avenue at around 7 a.m. Thursday and believed the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He also allegedly gave police a fake name.
Officers arrested him and took him back to police headquarters for breath tests and later charged him with obstructing police, impaired driving, driving while suspended, driving while prohibited, and refusing to comply with a breath demand.
The accused was taken into custody and later released with a future court date.

Tools targeted during Wallaceburg break-in
Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to solve a break-in at a business in Wallaceburg where someone took off with numerous tools.
Police said unknown suspects forced their way into the business on James Street sometime between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

Chatham man charged after police find stolen trailer, car
A 53-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after he was allegedly caught with a trailer that was stolen from Windsor and a car that was stolen from Chatham.
Police said they made that discovery on Knights Line in Blenheim at around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
The owners of both the trailer and the car were notified and arrangements were made to return them.
The man police found in possession of them was charged and later released with a future court date.
